4!

Eleanor Sophia turned 4 on November 8th. As per her request we had a "Wainbow Birthday" complete with "babloons" and a wonderful artificially flavored and oh so unnaturally colored rainbow cake.
We spent the day in Wilmington, went to the movies, ate out and then spent a long time in Claire's looking at pretties (luckily for Jake and John Gamestop is across the street).

6 and 1

It's been 6 years since I have had just 1 child at home.

Between 7:20am and 2:30pm she's mine and I'm all hers. I think we are both just a little excited.

Trend Setter?

This is what happens when you let your 4 year old pick out shoes. We were just about to leave for a bike ride around the neighborhood. I didn't make her change, because it's really cute. Besides when else in your life is it okay to wear cowboy boots (on the wrong feet) with capri sweats?

Sisters

Today I took the little girls to the park and they had so much fun. The weather was perfect and although the park was crowded, Addy and Ella totally enjoyed themselves. They spent 45 minutes playing with each other. They are lucky to have each other...not only are they sisters, but best friends.

Grandma's Girl

Grandma came over for dinner on Sunday and Ella couldn't have been happier. She loves Grandma and gets very protective of "my Gamma." As we were sitting around talking Ella kept saying, "Don't talk to my Gamma she tired" it was cute.
The other day when we were over at Grandma's house Ella brought in a blanket and put it on Grandma and then tucked her in.

Anytime anyone would go into the room where Nina (Grandma) was sitting Ella would run over to the doorway and say "Go Away, my Gamma sleeping." We all had a good laugh about that one.  Ella sure loves her Grandma, and I'm pretty sure Grandma loves her Ella ;)

Eleanor Sophia

Yes, we like to give our children big names. Someday she might want to be an Eleanor or a Sophia but for now she's our little Ella.

She came into our family at probably the most chaotic time in our lives. We were physically moving out of our home on her due date, November 4, 2005.  I can remember being so uncomfortable and feeling a state of panic, as our new home wasn't finished and we would be living out of suitcases for 4 more months. I was lifting boxes and moving furniture into the storage unit, wondering when this little girl would come and join the ever growing chaos. She came 4 days later.
At a time in our lives when everything seemed to be out of our control, this little girl came and reminded us to slow down. To slow down and enjoy the new, to enjoy the moments and to enjoy the simple. So here we are, 29 months later, still in awe of this little girl who came at the perfect time.

Curly heads

I thought it would be so fun the curl the girls hair for church.  Addy had a hard time sleeping with the curlers, but Ella didn't mind at all.  The end result is adorable!  You can tell that Addy felt so pretty with her curly hair.

When bad things happen to good people....

Ella decided to color herself, as well as the shelves, with a Sharpie.  While I was taking care of her, I guess Addy didn't make it to the bathroom?!?!  So while I cleaned up that mess (the cushion was washed in the washing machine) Ella decided to get a snack (read: carry a block of cheese and various items around the house).  These two are sure making up for lost time.
